There were a few things I needed to write down before I could start on the Showreel:
What do I want to specialize in:
I would love to be an environment/prop artist simply because:
Love creating sets and scenes of different genres and themes – making a virtual story.
Exciting feeling when it all comes together.
Being an environment artist means that I could do props and lighting and level dressing.
So obviously my portfolio had to show this.
I started looking around and researching other peoples showreels.
Some of my favourites are:
All of these show reels have similar things in common a very catchy song and a minute and a half length of video time.
There are alot of break down shots too which is quite important to have in your show reel but not a necessity, they both also have their email, website, profession and name at the end of the video - something to always put in your show reel if potential employees are viewing your video.
For my showreel I have decided on showing my latest environment (hand in for A3D) and some of the props that I made for the environment - I will also edit it to include future things that I am thinking of working on.
